Yesterday we had the opportunity to meet with mayors and representatives of towns and municipalities at the seminar “Municipalities as a confident partner in negotiations with developers”, which took place in the beautiful premises of the Brandýs nad Labem castle. We discussed current and key topics that municipalities deal with when cooperating not only with developers, and shared experiences from practice.
We discussed, among other things:
– How to effectively set up planning agreements to benefit municipalities and their residents.
– How to negotiate and set up contributions from developers to support municipal infrastructure – funding schools, nurseries, transportation infrastructure and other key projects.
– How to ensure that new municipal development adds value and does not burden the municipal budget.
– How to communicate complex issues to the public and how to prevent misunderstandings and gain residents’ support for projects.
– A key issue was land use planning and the new Building Act (BA) and the key changes it brings.
At the end we shared examples of good practice, inspiring experiences and useful suggestions that we all take back to our daily practice.
We thank MAS Střední Polabí for the patronage of the event and all participants for the great atmosphere and active participation!
We look forward to more meetings and cooperation!
